In 1981, Michael Bloomberg was fired from Salomon Brothers. As of October 2016, there were 325,000 Bloomberg Terminal subscribers worldwide. It is available for an annual fee of $20,000 per user ($24,000 per year for the small number of firms that use only one terminal). Most Bloomberg setups have between two and six displays. Citrix recommends that our customers not install the Sierra beta in production.The Bloomberg Terminal is a computer software system provided by the financial data vendor Bloomberg L.P. If Apple releases a new Sierra beta that causes Receiver for Mac to stop working, there is no guarantee that we will release a fix before the official release of Sierra. Be aware however that Sierra beta is still not a supported platform.
Receiver for Mac 12.2 (available August 1, 2016) does not suffer from the SSL issue on Sierra. Citrix has started to fix gaps and areas of incompatibilities with Sierra to ensure our commitment to Zero-day compatibility. Based on our early assessment of the current beta, we are aware of issues making ICA connections over SSL using Receiver 12.1.100 for Mac. The Sierra beta is available to the general public. We will keep our customers informed as we learn more about the changes needed to support any of the new features. In addition to zero-day compatibility, Citrix is reviewing new features that take advantage of Sierra. Zero-day compatibility means Receiver for Mac will operate with the new operating system platform from Apple at release. Citrix is committed to provide zero-day compatibility for Receiver for Mac when Sierra is generally available. Citrix Workspace app is a new client from Citrix that works similar to Citrix Receiver and is fully backward-compatible. While you can still download older versions of Citrix Receiver, new features and enhancements will be released for Citrix Workspace app.
